A German double in Canada

Germany showed a strong presentation at the Canada Open (50.000 US Dollars) in Vancouver with winning two titles. Michael Fuchs and Birgit Michels snatched the mixed doubles title while their compatriot Marc Zwiebler dominated the men's singles event. The latter beat former World and Olympic Champion Taufik Hidayat in two games. Zwiebler and Fuchs/Michels clearly showed that they are in-form and ready for the World Championships.

“Winning this title is certainly important for the points,” said Michael Fuchs. “We are especially happy because we didn’t play well in the recent tournaments in Asia. We’ve had some good matches against Chen and Cheng.  ...
