China’s in-form player Chen Jin continued his winning streak as he has reached into Men’s Singles quarter-final after taming Muhammad Hafiz Hashim at the round-of-16 stage in India Open Super Series at New Delhi, India, on Thursday, April 26.

The World Number Four Jin, who is third seed in Men’s Singles main draw of India Open, was on a different level while playing against his Malaysian opponent and wrapped up victory without any considerable effort.

Jin played with precision against Hafiz in the pre-quarter-final tournament and managed to win the contest with a convincing margin on the score board.

On the other hand, Hafiz played well but failed to match the speed and aggression of his rival and lost the contest in 47 minutes.

Jin, who has been playing impressive badminton for the last couple of months and have clinched three titles in a row, proved his worth and ended the round-of-16 clash against Hafiz in straight games.

The higher ranked Chinese player opened his campaign in an impressive fashion and managed to take a small lead.

However, he failed to maintain it as his Malaysia opponent geared up his speed and levelled the score by reaching at 7-7.

At this stage, Jin changed his plan and started to dominate the game by taking the bird early at net and managed an 11-8 lead until the mid-game interval.

After the break, he remained positive but failed to stop the progressive run on Hafiz who again levelled the score at 15-15.

Nevertheless, Jin controlled the pace in the ending points and took the first set of this contest with a 21-18 score on the board.

In the second game, Jin was everywhere in the court as he played attacking badminton and established an incredible 11-3 lead until the break.

After the one-minute interval, the Chinese shuttler remained on track as he was fully focused and easily grabbed the second set with a remarkable margin of 21-15.

The impressive Jin did not face much trouble in winning this round-of-16 battle against Hafiz with a superb 21-18 and 21-15 margin on the board.
