India’s Parupalli Kashyap put up spectacular show in the Men’s Singles first round when he defeated Belgium’s Yuhan Tan at the India Open Super Series 2012 in India, on Wednesday, April 25.

Kashyap, who is currently World Number 30 in Men’s Singles category, played with impressive approach as he did not let his Belgian opponent to take control of rallies at any stage and wrapped up the contest.

The Indian remained successful in ending the contest in straight games with a remarkable margin on the board.

Yuhan, who won against Kashyap in their last meeting at the Austrian International Challenge 2011, could not maintain his upper hand this time and lost the match without taking even a single set.

Kashyap was impressive in the court and managed to win the battle by taking the court time for just 32 minutes.

After winning this contest, Kashyap said that he was expecting a tough competition but it was unexpectedly easy for him to register victory over Yuhan.

He said, "It was easier than I expected. I lost against him in the Austrian International Challenge last year. It's always good to be here and feel at home.”

While talking about his upcoming match against Thailand’s Boonsak Ponsana, the Indian said that he has already won against him and is hopeful to prove his worth again.

He added, "I am looking forward to tomorrow's match, where I face Boonsak. I had beaten him couples of times earlier including the Sudirman Cup, Denmark Open etc and lost to him at Macau Open in a close match."

In his first round encounter against the Belgian shuttler, Kashyap played with complete control and remained far ahead on the board in the opening set.

The Indian took the first game with a remarkable 21-11 margin on the score board.

In the second set, Kashyap did not drop his speed and also played attacking badminton. He spared no chance for Yuhan to make a comeback in the match and easily won the second game with a margin of 21-14.

Kashyap found a good start as he registered victory over Yuhan in the first round with a 21-11 and 21-14 score on the board.
