Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei strolled into Men’s Singles second round as he did not face any trouble from Chinese Taipei’s Hsuan Yi Hsueh in the first round of India Open Super Series 2012 on Wednesday, April 25, in India.

The World Number 1 and top seed in the event Chong Wei showed his elevated skills and easily wrapped up the fight against the Taipei shuttler.

Chong Wei, who has recently recovered from a shoulder injury, showed no sign of slowing down the pace and played with wonderful ease in the court.

The top seed played well and consumed just 35 minutes in the court to finish the job in straight games.

On the other hand, Hsuan Yi could not match the speed and skills of his higher ranked Malaysian opponent in the opening set.

However, he played good badminton in the second game but not enough to escape defeat from the hands of Chong Wei and lost the contest in straight sets.

In the first set, Chong Wei played his normal game with an impressive touch of deception in his strokes.

He troubled his Taipei opponent with his hard-to-learn skills and incredible speed and took a striking lead of 11-3 until the mid-game interval.

After the break, Chong Wei continued his stunning show in the court as he did not commit any mistake and also kept the tempo very fast.

Chong Wei sailed smoothly in the opening set and easily ended it with a superb 21-8 score on the board.

In the second set, Hsuan Yi played good badminton as he matched the speed of his Malaysian opponent and remained equal on the board.

In the meanwhile, Chong Wei became a little relaxed which helped his Taipei opponent to remain close until 8-8. However, the top seed played fast game at this stage and took an 11-8 lead until the break.

Hsuan Yi played well after the break and levelled the score at 13-13.

The Taipei shuttler continued playing positive badminton and reached at 19-18 when Chong Wei showed his brilliance and scored three consecutive points to take the set with a 21-19 score on the board.

Chong Wei tamed Hsuan Yi in the opening-round battle with a superb margin of 21-8 and 21-19.
