Lin Dan lifted his first BWF Super Series title since March 2012 as he claimed victory over Simon Santoso at the Australian Open.
The double Olympic gold medallist returned to his best form in Sydney to win 22-24 21-16 21-7 and end his long wait for a title on the circuit.
Lin has been a peripheral figure this season, allowing long-term rival Lee Chong Wei to collect four of the eight tournament crowns on offer.
But with Lee not participating, the 30-year-old seized on his opportunity - albeit after a slow start.
Santoso was ahead for large parts of the first game only for Lin to cut a four-point gap and level at 17 apiece.
The Indonesian was not to be denied, though, and eventually secured a two-point cushion.
Lin's response was positive and he deservedly took the second game after showcasing some of his best shots.
The deciding game was a one-sided affair as Lin took control of proceedings, at one stage reeling off six consecutive points on the way to a convincing triumph.
Saina Nehwal also ended a lengthy wait for a Super Series crown in the women's draw, earning her first since October 2012 with a 21-18 21-11 success against Carolina Marin.
The sixth seed was only behind once in the first game as Marin led 2-1, but after winning four successive points she cruised to an early lead in the match.
She completed victory in comprehensive fashion as her Spanish opponent fell off the pace in the second game.
