England's Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork suffered their fifth consecutive opening-match defeat as they crashed out of the mixed doubles at the Yonex French Open.
The struggling pair were knocked out in the second round of the World Championship last month, after being handed a first-round bye, and have not won a match together since.
Wallwork and former Olympic silver medallist Robertson, who also won world gold in 2006 with his former doubles partner Gail Emms, were beaten by South Korean qualifiers today.
Robertson and Wallwork had three match points in the second game against Ko Sung Hyun and Eom Hye Won but eventually lost 16-21 26-24 21-16.
Scotland's Robert Blair and England's Gabby White combined to reach the second round in Paris, beating seventh-seeded Thailand pair Songphon Anugritayawon and Kunchala Voravichitchaikul 21-15 21-19.
