Southerners survive the snow day

Players still in action on quarter-finals day of the 2011 Hwasun Victor Korea Open Grand Prix Gold awoke to the sight of giant, swirling snow flakes. But despite the chill, a few visitors from the south kept their title hopes going to the semi-finals.

Unlike at the 2011 Kumpoo Macau Open or indeed last year’s Victor Grand Prix, there will be more than just China in the running come finals day. Oddly, it is the women’s doubles that sports the greatest diversity.
